Taste Test Thursday: Steak & Cheese Sandwich

Last weekend, I volunteered at Big Texas Beer Fest and needed to pack something that would fill my stomach with something solid while I drank all that beer. Since the Farmers Markets are back and I have more mixed greens than I even know what to do with I figured this springtime take on a cheesesteak seemed like it would get the job done!

Ingredients:
Sliced Steak
Dubliner Cheese
1/2 Onion
Mixed Greens
Pretzel Bun
1 Tabelspoon Olive Oil
A Pinch of Sugar
Salt and Pepper

Method: 
- Any steak preference you have will work for this. If You have leftover steak, great. If you want to fire up the grill just so you can make this sandwich then by all means get on that grill. I pan roasted this one. 
- slice up your half onion and put it in a pan on low with a tabelspoon of olive oil. When the onions start to become transparent add a pinch of sugar and salt and pepper the onion. Let them continue to cook at the low heat while stirring occasionally .
-While the onions are cooking, preheat your oven to 350. You are just going to use it to melt the cheese on to the pretzel bun. Slice the pretzel bun in half and place on a baking sheet. Grate the Dubliner Cheese over both sides of the pretzel bun to preference. I like my sandwiches extra cheese, so the higher the mountain the better. Place baking sheet in oven until the cheese has melted. 
- Once the cheese has melted, lay a handful of mixed greens along the bottom half of the bread. Next, spoon on the carmalized onions and finally layer your steak on top.
